Introduction to Recreate Self and Living (RSAL)

RSAL was founded by my wife and me, driven by our recognition of a significant need in the sector. We observed that many families in rural Victoria were facing prolonged wait times to access Occupational Therapy services for their children. Establishing RSAL was our response to this challenge, aiming to alleviate at least a part of this issue for those in rural areas.

Professional Background and Experience

My journey as a professional in the field of Occupational Therapy has been both extensive and diverse. I have had the privilege of working across various sectors, including rehabilitation, sub-acute care, and disabilities. The unifying factor in all these areas has been my focus on people - it's about aiding individuals living with disabilities and finding ways to make a meaningful, positive impact in their lives. This principle is at the heart of my professional ethos and serves as a cornerstone for Recreate Self and Living (RSAL).

What Sets RSAL Apart.

At RSAL, we believe that the fusion of passion with a genuine love for our work is what truly distinguishes our services. This combination ensures that our service delivery is not just effective but also heartfelt and deeply committed.

Sector Expertise

My professional experiences are varied, encompassing several challenging and rewarding areas:

Traumatic Brain Injuries and Spinal-Cord Injuries: I have worked closely with individuals who have sustained traumatic brain injuries and high-level spinal cord injuries, helping them navigate the complexities of their conditions.

Vocational Rehabilitation: My experience extends to the vocational sector, particularly in assisting injured workers from the mining industry in their journey back to their previous vocational roles.

Aged Care: Another significant area of my work has been in the aged care sector, focusing on pain management and the development of quality of life strategies for older adults.

Broad Age Range Expertise

My experience spans a wide age range. I have worked with young children, starting as young as four years old, all the way to older adults nearing their centennial celebrations. This broad spectrum has given me a deep understanding of the different challenges and requirements at each stage of life.

Conclusion

My experience and knowledge, accumulated from working in these diverse sectors, underpin my approach to Occupational Therapy. This extensive background equips me with the tools and understanding necessary to navigate the complex health system, ensuring that I can provide the best possible support and guidance to you or your child. At RSAL, we are committed to leveraging this experience to make a significant and positive difference in the lives of those we serve.
